The UIB Meteorology Group is a research team specialized in atmospheric physics and related sciences.

The research team works on the comprehension of the physical processes involved in the weather and climate in the Western Mediterranean using numerical simulation and observation equipment. The aim is to improve knowledge on severe weather events as storms, mediterranean hurricanes, heavy precipitation or flash floods, and to improve weather forecasting capabilities.

The Meteorology group is also known for its work on boundary layer, regional climatology and climate change impacts on society and economy.
